[Closed] We're hiring: Venture Associate to scale our early stage company sourcing and assessment

About us:

Zero Carbon Capital (ZCC) is an early-stage venture investor backing extraordinary companies building innovative scientific solutions to the biggest, hardest challenges of decarbonisation. We look for technologies addressing half gigaton problems, and the vision-aligned teams to build them.

We invest in companies at pre-seed and seed stage, and offer all-round support to help turn ideas and prototypes into valuable companies. We are looking for solutions across all the unsolved emissions areas, including transportation, energy production and storage, industrial processes, building and food & agriculture.

We're scientists by education and have spent our careers at the intersection of technology, innovation and business. We've been fortunate to work with, and learn from, some of the smartest people in the world and to have worked on products that have impacted billions of lives. We've now turned our attention to what we can do to support entrepreneurs and scientists in the fight for the future of our planet.

  • Responding to inbound inquiries from entrepreneurs, co-investors, and ecosystem partners in a way that creates respect and goodwill.

  • Excellent listening and communicating skills, in oral and written form, with a good sense of humour.

  • Collaborative approach, and you are comfortable working with entrepreneurs, academics, and other investors.

  • Experience evaluating early-stage investment opportunities preferred, particularly in cleantech or deeptech.

  • Confident working style. You will work independently and remotely with little supervision, and you need to have a self-starting, positive attitude.

Zero Carbon Capital is an equal opportunity employer with an intentional focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applicants from backgrounds which are underrepresented in venture capital are especially encouraged to apply. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor work visas so all applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
