About the role:

ZCC is looking for an Analyst to deliver:

  • Venture scouting - you will become a key source for finding new companies. We want you to cast a wide net! This will include developing and managing relationships with deal flow partners, having the first conversation with entrepreneurs, reading newsletters, attending pitch events, maintaining our database of interesting companies and championing teams to the rest of the company.

  • Due diligence - you will get involved with analysis of opportunities, including sector, market and opportunity analysis, carbon TAM calculations, technoeconomic analysis and financial modelling.

  • Developing and maintaining a network of trusted relationships among entrepreneurs, co-investors, university faculty and grad students, incubators, venture builders and technology hubs.

  • Responding to inbound inquiries from entrepreneurs, co-investors, and ecosystem partners in a way that creates respect and goodwill.

  • Reporting requirements for the fund.

  • New responsibilities as they come to light! This is a new fund and we are moving fast, there is big scope for your role to grow and evolve.


About you: You have a…

  • Strong alignment with our fund’s mission of achieving net-zero emissions

  • Deep intellectual curiosity

  • Analytical approach and you will probably have an advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative and scientific subject area - electrochemistry and molecular biology are particularly interesting. .

  • Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative. You love technical detail and numbers, and you are happy sifting through data, summarising reports and drawing logical conclusions.

  • Excellent listening and communicating skills, in oral and written form, with a good sense of humour.

  • Collaborative approach, and you are comfortable working with entrepreneurs, academics, and other investors.

  • Experience evaluating early-stage investment opportunities preferred, particularly in cleantech or deeptech.

  • Confident working style. You will work independently and remotely with little supervision, and you need to have a self-starting, positive attitude.

Location:

You can be based anywhere, but you will need to travel to events and companies, many of which are in the ‘golden triangle’. We will have team days twice a month, which are likely to be in London, and team offsites quarterly in various locations.


Salary: depending on experience.
